Programs may include up to 2 of the following live animals: various species of snake, box turtle, hawk, and or owl. Presentations take place in the Visitor’s Center.

Our animals may occasionally need the day off, in the rare event an animal is not available for this program another program may take its place. Thank you for understanding.

Bats of Georgia – If you don’t already love Georgia’s bats- you’re about to! Join bat enthusiasts and Georgia master naturalists to learn what bats do for us, and what we can do for Georgia’s bats. After the 30-minute presentation, take a walk using special bat-detecting gear to participate in citizen-science! Meet us in the campground picnic pavilion.

Birds of Prey presented by Blue Ridge Raptors – Join Blue Ridge Raptors in the Visitor’s Center Arch Room to meet up to 6 different species of raptor up close! 45-minute programs are held in Visitor’s Center Arch Room. Iconic Trees of Amicalola Falls – A free 1-1.5 hour moderate guided hike to learn how to identify trees around the park. Meet behind the Visitor’s Center at 11am.

Sunset Stories – This series features professional storytellers as they work their magic at the campground firepit! Bring a chair, a flashlight and an open imagination for this 1 hour program. Meet at the campground firepit at sunset. If rain forecast is 75% or higher, stories will take place in the lodge lobby. Register here to receive communications about weather changes.
