Learn the basics of how to safely shoot a compound bow and arrow then practice from different distances on 3D foam targets. All equipment is provided and closed-toed shoes are required. This activity is intended for children over the age of 8 and everyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult guardian.
Please note that this activity is intended to be a guided introduction to archery and that we do not have an open range available for target practice.
The archery range is located temporarily in the field across from the Visitor Center. Check-in is located at the targets in the field and we recommend being there 5 minutes prior to the schedule time to meet with the guide. It is often necessary to walk through grass and other vegetation to retrieve arrows so we recommend spraying clothing and shoes with an insect and tick repellent, especially during the spring and summer months. Please dress appropriately for the expected weather conditions and consider bringing a bottle of water and a snack.
Expect the activity to take approximately 1.5 hours. We are unable to offer refunds for late arrivals or cancellations after the 24-hour window. Please be considerate and respectful of other people that might be participating in the activity.
Archery Fundamentals is offered rain or shine but may be cancelled due to high winds, lightning, or other conditions determined to be unsafe. Should this happen, we will either provide a full refund for the class or an option to reschedule.
We understand that plans can change when on vacation and that weather is not always ideal for outdoor activities. Because of this, we offer the option of canceling reservations for a full refund up to 24 hours in advance of the scheduled activity by following the instructions located in the confirmation email.
We hope you have an enjoyable and memorable experience!
