Adventure Activities

Adventures are abundant at Amicalola State Park & Lodge. From high flying on our Georgia zip line adventure to hiking Amicalola Falls. We still have all of what you love and more of what you crave from our mountain wonderland.

Join us for our weekly activities or schedule an adventure package with activities that are sure to get your adrenaline pumping.

Reservations are required for all activities and private programs. Please reserve your spot by emailing naturalist@amicalolafallslodge.com.

Amicalola-Falls-Adventure-Lodge-Photo-Videos-Purple

Learn the basics of using a compound bow and take a shot at the 3D targets in our outdoor range. You will spend up to two hours with an Activities Attendant traversing our range to practice your bow and arrow skills. All equipment is provided but guests are welcome to bring their own bow. Closed-toed shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are required for this activity.

Cost is $30 per person. Participants must be at least 8 years old. There is a minimum of 2 people and maximum of 6 people for each group.

Experience the exhilaration of soaring over the treetops with a Zip Line Adventure.

Hike up the famous Appalachian Approach Trail to the tallest waterfall in Georgia. You will spend about one hour with a naturalist learning about the natural and cultural history of Amicalola State Park. Comfortable footwear and weather-appropriate clothing is required for this activity.

Cost is $12 per person. Participants must be at least 5 years old.

Follow GPS coordinates on a self-guided hike up the mountain. With eight total coordinate locations, this hike leads you from the Visitor Center to the Lodge. This typically takes 2-3 hours.

Cost is $12 per GPS device. Devices with instructions will be available for pick-up at the Visitor Center and must be returned by 4:00pm each day.

Every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 1:00pm and 4:00pm, meet with a naturalist in the lobby of Amicalola Lodge to learn about the natural and cultural history of Amicalola Falls State Park.

Blue Ridge Raptors Educational Programs Inc. presents a Birds of Prey program in place of Naturalist Hour at 1:00pm on the following Saturdays this spring: March 11 and 25, April 1 and 15, May 6 and 27.

These programs are free and available to all visitors to the park. No advance reservations are required.

Tomahawk Throwing

Work with our Activities Attendant to practice your tomahawk throwing skills in our outdoor range. You will spend up to one hour with an Activities Attendant learning the proper way to throw an axe at wooden targets. All equipment is provided. Closed-toed shoes and weather-appropriate clothing are required for this activity.

Cost is $20 per person. Participants must be at least 8 years old. There is a maximum of 3 people allowed for each group.
