Adventure Activities

Adventures are abundant at Amicalola State Park & Lodge. From high flying on our Georgia zip line adventure to hiking Amicalola Falls. We still have all of what you love and more of what you crave from our mountain wonderland.

Join us for our weekly activities or schedule an adventure package with activities that are sure to get your adrenaline pumping.

Amicalola-Falls-Adventure-Lodge-Photo-Videos-Purple

Learn the basics of using a compound bow and take a shot at the 3D targets in our outdoor range. You will spend up to two hours with an Activities Attendant traversing our range to practice your bow and arrow skills. All equipment is provided but guests are welcome to bring their own bow. Closed-toed shoes are required for this activity.

Each session costs $20 per person age 13 and up, $10 per person age 8-12.

This course is offered at 11AM and 2PM.

Experience the exhilaration of soaring over the treetops with a Zip Line Adventure.

Hike up our famous Appalachian Approach Trail to the tallest waterfall in Georgia. You will spend one hour will an Activities Attendant identifying key species in the park while learning some history of Amicalola. Comfortable footwear is required for this activity.

Each session costs $10 per person age 5 and up.

This hike is offered at 9:30AM.

Follow GPS coordinates on a self-guided hike up the mountain. With eight total coordinate locations, this hike leads you from the Visitor Center all the way up to the Lodge. This typically takes 2-3 hours.

Each unit rents for $10 per day.

Units must be returned to the Visitor Center by 4:30PM same day.

Every weekend, visit the Lodge for a Meet-and-Greet with one of our Ambassador Animals. Learn how birds of prey fly silently and why a snake sheds its skin.

Meet a Bird of Prey on Saturdays from 10:30-11AM in the Lodge’s main lobby and on Sundays from 10:30-11AM in the Lower Amphitheater by the Visitor Center.

Meet a Reptile on Saturdays from 2-2:30PM in the Lower Amphitheater by the Visitor Center and on Sundays from 2-2:30PM in the Lodge’s main lobby.

No reservations are required. Donations made at the programs benefit the animals and the proceeds help care for our collection.

Tomahawk Challenge

Work with our Activities Attendant to practice your tomahawk throwing skills in our outdoor range. You will spend one hour with an Activities Attendant learning the proper way to throw an axe at wooden targets. All equipment is provided. Closed-toed shoes are required for this activity.

Each session costs $20 per person age 8 and up.

This course is offered at 9:30AM, 11AM, 12:30PM, 2PM, and 3:30PM.

Explore the basics of planning for a primitive trip in the wilderness. You will spend up to two hours practicing your fire-building techniques with an Activities Attendant, while learning other important skills. All equipment is provided. Closed-toed shoes are required for this activity.

Each session costs $25 per person age 13 and up, $15 per person age 8-12.

This course is offered at 11AM and 2PM.
