Everyday is a good day when you are in the mountains and in these mountains there are plenty of ways to make it even more fun. Located between Dawsonville and Dahlonega and connected to the Appalachian Trail’s most southern terminus, Amicalola Falls State Park and Lodge lets you explore the region your way. The Visitor’s Center at Amicalola Falls State Park and Lodge is a hub of activity with live regional reptile exhibits, Bird of Prey demonstrations, local experts and area trail maps.
For fun outside the park be sure to check out our most popular area destinations such as Burt’s Pumpkin Farm, Georgia Winery Tours, the Blue Ridge Scenic Train, or the Apple Capital of Georgia in nearby Ellijay. Area activities include white water rafting, horseback riding, shopping at the North Georgia Premium Outlet Mall or in the local boutiques of Downtown Helen, Dahlonega, and Dawsonville.
Have a blast at Atlanta Motorsports Park in nearby Dawsonville, home of racing legend Bill Elliot and the birthplace of NASCAR. Discover Georgia gold and gems at the Dahlonega Gold Museum and try your hand at a local gold panning mine. Visit the majestic Tate House for a look at the most beautiful rock in the area- pink Georgia marble. There is so much to do in the mountains, where will your adventure lead?
